I definitely think there should be an option of some sort to assume the user is only using the code block. I think that mock-up is as close to what I would like to see as I could ask for.
Also the ability to collapse code would be fantastic. While at it, how about the //TODO feature some IDEs have?

About Me
I've been using game maker for 6 years and been programming for 6 as well. I tried doing 2D art, but never got into it and instead I enjoy 3D modeling. I use Blender 2.58.1 right now in addition to light use of Sculptris Alpha 6 (which I got to be part of a closed beta for before its release, which was fun). I enjoy doing 3D work in Game Maker to try and push its limits, though I do a lot of 2D work as well.

it seems that it would be strange because you're changing where the camera is looking by changing where it is, but I don't know what you want. Could you explain into some more detail what your problem is and what you're looking for?

Was that what it was? I'm glad GM has trouble with sound cards then and didn't play any music..After disabling the ear-numbing vocaloid music, it was actually quite interesting to play around with.
I'd give you a 6/10 for the example, and -10/10 for your music choice.
The portal mechanics were a bit broken, as they don't accommodate for every situation or if the surface is even valid.

I assume the black is the outside of the level, as the portals are intersecting. Also in this screenshot, I am stuck in a wall.

It's not optimized for GM 8.1 however, so if you use it, it could probably be improved. It renders multiple triangles to simulate having multiple textures. The lowest-indexed texture is always opaque while the rest follow Gamer3D's first option.

This is one of my favorite GM games. Out of all of Banov's games, this is my favorite though it lacks some polish.
