As many of you know, the Sandbox is shutting down on the 8th of April.

What we will do in this topic:

- Post links to sandbox games you have downloaded, and recommend other people should play / download because you enjoyed them. This will let people know which games which people have backed up.

This will hopefully minimize the number of good games that get lost after the shutdown, because people will not have to bother downloading games they know have already been saved by someone else.

Don't post any links to anything that is not Sandbox.

It is illegal to rehost games without the author's permission.

And even if you have permission, don't post a rehost link here anyway because it's partially outside of forum rules and if you want to you can do all that after the shutdown anyway.

I've been given permission by Chance to make this topic. If you don't think that this topic should exist, don't think the sandbox should be being shut down, or don't like that you're not allowed to rehost games without author permission, don't post that here. If this topic gets derailed it becomes useless.

I've got all my games backed up, and am fine with anyone redistributing them. I know Fira's been backing up Fira, what do you have?

**************

Mod note:  I merged this post / topic with Lawsome's existing topic (in Off Topic) and moved the result here.

**************

Since the old topic about the sanbox was closed before I was able to reply, I"ll leave this here for you xP.

The goal of this topic is to tell others which games you might want to look into from the sandbox before it closes down.

On a side note: NO COPYRIGHT DISCUSSIONS HERE PLEASE.

Well, lets get started!.

- http://sandbox.yoyog...-aeronesia-demo. That game. It's the best game i've ever played from the sandbox. You can play the game in many ways (like undertale)

- http://sandbox.yoyog...undersea-hunter. Also played this game often. Idk why, but it's fun xP.

- http://sandbox.yoyog...es/212885-redux. Another masterpiece. THe story isn't original, but the level design and storytelling is. The REDux version is the best one (runs lighter with better graphics than the original).

- http://sandbox.yoyog...om/users/hanson. Hanson's GMNewton demos are hard to find elsewhere (these are the only one I can find on the web, might didn;t look good enough).

- http://sandbox.yoyog...ations-march-3d. While I am able to archieve better graphics & collision with my own pure GML middleware (thanks to BlueBurn & Yal's tech demo's & collision engine), it is still one of the best graphical games out there.

- http://sandbox.yoyog...r-e-n-a-l-i-n-e. One that shoudn't be missing on your list. Very good programmed AI, good graphics, multiplayer, and lots of fun x3. The only downside I found so far is that it is undecompileable xP.

- http://sandbox.yoyog...miami-traffic-3. The last one for the list. Very addicting, good graphics (made in pure GML), and as much as fun as its previous version (Miami traffic 2).

Wait, two more xD

- http://sandbox.yoyog...y-racer-full-hd. Really addicting!. Again good graphics, fun gameplay, and can even choose your own sound that yu want to play on the background! (I always select highway to hell from my playlist xP).

- http://sandbox.yoyog...ch?q=GMEngineer. All his stuff. With all, I mean everything. His work is fantastic, and inspiring too. Most of his games can be recompiled in GMS without too much effort (if you know how to write proper 3D games for both GM versions).

While I still got the feeling that I for got a game, this should be good enough for now. My list is currently bigger than yours (only using the downloaded copies as backup, nothing else unless I get premissions from the author(s)).

So, which games from the sandbox would you like to recommend to others?, and why?.

- Kahvana

Sorry mate, I already made a topic for this. :P

though the fact this topic was created perhaps suggests something, mods, when you merge these topics would it be possible to keep them in community chat? it's more of a community issue so might be better off here, plus it's evidently not as visible in off topic. :)

Haha xD, youre fast xP. Liturally wrote this after mike suddenly closed the other topic (sandbox shutdown). Thanks for notifying me!. So, should I ask a mod to merge our topics?.

I've merged them and moved the result here.

I suggested to Lawsome that his topic should be in Off Topic, since it was about "games in general".  But he's right:  this is a GMC community issue.  So it's best here.

@Lawsome:  I apologize for editing your post, but I wanted to avoid misconceptions here.  This topic should be about favorite Sandbox games that we strongly recommend people download for their own enjoyment before the Sandbox is removed.   Not about some future archive.
