Hello! I was inspired by Undertale's bullet hell to make a quirky RPG combat system that was less turn based and more timing based. Please tell me what you think of it and how it can be improved.

Controls: Arrow keys to counter attack, enter for fight menu, and R to reset.

Currently there are no items so the items option is just a placeholder.

Instructions:

Spoiler

Download the .exe here: https://www.dropbox....Combat.exe?dl=0

Enjoy!

Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but I just keep losing. Do I wait for the outline to go green or do I wait for it to line up as close with the onion?

The idea is neat, I enjoy when someone adds extra elements to turn-based battles to make them less of a spam-fest.

Thank you for the feedback! I've been experimenting with many battle systems like this.

You have to press the arrow key in the direction of the arrow on the onion when the closing outline meets the outline of it. The arrow and outline turns green only to let you know that it is ready. When the onion turns blue it means that it is the current attack being selected.

The light blue color kind of looks green so I might change that.
