Yes! You included a demake of my personal worst ever entry "Just Pop Bubbles"
And it was actually fun (or at least interesting) to play, unlike my original entry haha.
The remake of Rebus was very cool too. You pulled off the whole text-based game thing
really really well. I only got 10/21 right without skipping, but then I'm a bit dopey.
I like this entry a lot!
GameDevDan - Maggot In A Frying Pan = [??/??]
My Own Game. Has bonus NAL, what more could you want?
GameGoblin - WillO - [9/10]
Yay! Another person demaking a game of mine!
I like how some of the levels are a bit different to the original but some are almost the
same. Level 13 still spelling out "13" was a really nice throwback.
There are a couple of bugs. For some reason when I finished a couple of levels I got shown a
winning screen, or turfed to the credits, but I knew I hadn't played all the levels and sure
enough when I went back to the menu there were levels left to play!
Another oversight is that
your wooden boxes "melt" to put out candles underneath them, which wasn't in the original
The game was fun to play ultimately, and I completed every level. It was clearly demade, although
I don't know about "retro" given there is gradual transparency all over the place. It really helped
using a midi file for the sound though - my synthesizer happens to have all of the instruments set
to GameBoy sounds as I was using it for something else recently, so the game sounded real good XD
Overall a nice entry, thanks for the demake!
HayManMarc - Saucers From Space - [6/10]
A decent remake of the old game, and certainly sufficiently retro. The control scheme was a bit trying,
but the gameplay in general was pretty fun.
LukanSpellWeaver - Twerkin' Yarrr - [4/10]
Dat Miley. Funny take on Darrell's absolute classic. The underlying LCD thingies should have been less
visible, it all looks a bit messy as-is. Other than that a decent entry.
Mercerenies - Roy's Adventures In Crafting - [3/10]
A roy game?! *looks scared* *plays* Ah it wasn't too scary. I didn't create the universe. I created some
halves, some quarters, and a negative roy, whatever that means.
Nallebeorn - Taco Quest - [9/10]
Features Dadio in apartment 501. Bonus points.
Guestbook features ME. Bonus points. Also the other people but nobody cares about them.
I can tell you put a huge amount of time into this game and you did really well! The commands work
really decently, and the game is full of good humour and interesting tales. I like it.
Nocturne - Maggot In A Frying Pan - [6/10]
Dem demented maggot screams XD Nicely retro-fied there. Sturdy and frightening competition for my game.
nvrogers - Doomshark Devolve - [7/10]
Clever use of the restrictions of this jam, not only demaking the game but also making it more retro as
it went along (and reversing the original gameplay to suit the feeling!). Quite well made, I got to the
end and it was pretty fun. I would actually have liked more intermediate stages between the animals so
that I could play longer!
Snail_Man - Cookie Restaurant - [4/10]
Pretty good, sufficiently retro. I'm not a huge fan of games in general where you have to wait around
for things to happen, so I'm afraid I probably haven't given this a fair shake where the score is
concerned. But it's a decent enough entry.
Yal - Sushido NES - [8/10]
True to the original it's a pretty hard game. Sometimes it feels like there are too many fish coming at
you at once on the sushi screen, and on the boat screen I find it extremely difficult to judge the
jumps. However it's graphically well made, sufficiently retro and, like I said, true to the original
game. So it's a great entry!
