A few months ago, I needed to know how to get the input volume of a microphone. There was no way of doing that in Game Maker and nobody seemed to have a solution, so I did some research and ended up with my own. And I'm now sharing it with you.
 
I used this for an event as kind of a crowd game, where the more people shouted, the higher the character jumped. It was lots of fun!

Pretty interesting. Although you might also want to offer it outside of the marketplace, as there are also users (like me) who don't have access to it. (Due to age restrictions, for example.)

EDIT:

Due to a Game Maker bug, you have to call audio_get_recorder_count() first in the create event (only if you use the solution in the post, because it's not included there; It's included in the marketplace asset)
