It's not working for me!

I enter my Pro license key in the "Upgrades" section, and I'm taken to the Pro + Exports page (even though I already own pro - it's still a selectable option). I add the exports I'm interested in, but at no point do I see a 50% reduction.

Is the offer not fully live yet?

Tis a shame the compiler doesn't have 50% off too, but still a great deal on the exports!

I believe the export modules already have the discount applied.

Works for me... you know the 50% discount won't actually show up as items in the product list, right? The items will simply be at half the prize (so HTML5 export costs 49.99 instead of 99.99)

If i only have the free version which i downloaded in order to develop, test and build android games what would i need to buy?

Do i buy the GameMaker: Studio Standard for full price ($50), then upgrade to professional studio with 50% off ($25), then buy the android module for 50% off ($100)?

So the total for Studio Professional + Android Export + HTML5 Export modules would be about $225, can you confirm this?

No discount on the YoYo Compiler or the Master package? I guess I'll keep waiting for the 50% off sale on those. I can hold my breath a long time.

Hey Nocturne! I'm having that loop issue as well. I just signed up for the Standard > Pro upgrade and I'm trying to add in an export module, but it just keeps taking back to the selection screen.

I would think that the $99 should come to $50, but my PRO key just loops back when I hit upgrade.

Any help? I emailed Cust Service earlier.

Well, no answers here, on Facebook, or from customer support, so that's kinda sad.

Looks like the hundred dollar package IS the discounted version...I guess it's normally two hundred.

VAT is still being applied when I enter a VAT number. That can't be right, can it?

Ordinarily when I purchase software, VAT is not applied to the order when using the company VAT number.

Your VAT number allows you to claim back VAT.

In simple terms, VAT registered companies pay VAT and track all VAT paid on purchases. They also charge VAT on all sales. At the end of every term they either remit or claim the difference between VAT paid or received.

Having a VAT number doesn't mean avoiding paying the VAT at the source.

Cheers.

At the majority of the ones we use, it does seem to mean just that. Hmmm... A lot of the software we purchase comes form the U.S. (.Net components mainly). Maybe that's why VAT doesn't get added when we supply our company VAT number? Or maybe I'm confusing myself...

I've upgraded to Professional with the deal, and now I'm trying to get the modules with the same deal.  However, every time I enter the Pro version's license key on the shopping cart page, it takes me back to the list of modules with no change in the price.  I'm trying to get the HTML5 module whose regular price is $49.99, but it's not changing.

I think this may be it. There is no VAT Tax here, we have sales tax and federal taxes.

Hey buddy. As far as I can tell and from what little info I've gotten, they ARE showing the discounted price. Which kinda stinks since I thought I could get the Android module at $50. Seems it's normally $200. Not very clear, but I am betting you have the same issue. Not a glitch. :-(

This is right, the export modules for Android/iOS are normally $200. HTML5 is normally $99.

Studio Pro is always $99 though (what it shows now), so if you buy that outright, there is no discount. But I think if you go the long route, buy Standard, then upgrade to Pro, it will cost ~$75? I'm going to find out later.

One thing I'm wondering though.. I bought Studio: Pro on Steam. I know if you buy the non-steam versions of everything you get steam keys. Just wondering if I can simply buy the Android export module on sale and use that with my steam version.

Ordinarily when I purchase software, VAT is not applied to the order when using the company VAT number.

If you are a vat registered company with a VAT number, then you will know that you pay vat on vat'able items, then later claim it back when you do your vat return.

The FAQ says that you get a steam key yes.

But my question is:

How do I get the discount on the price for the pro-version if I bought Studio on Steam and therefore do not have a license key to enter?

Am I missing something?

You cant I believe.

You can buy modules if you have the correct version on Steam but you cannot upgrade.

And even if I would now buy the Pro Version on Steam - I still wouldn't have a license key to get discounted modules - because on Steam you don't get a license key.

Yeah I saw this link. What confused me was that Pro itself is not discounted to people who bought Studio through Steam - I saw the point in the faq now - still find it weird that this is the case and that users who bought GM through steam are excluded from the discount on Pro.

Thanks for your answers anyway.

Steam is a reseller of Studio, they control the proces of the software they licence. They have their own sales.

When one buys software on Steam, the expectation shouldn't be to get all the Steam sales and YYG sales. The ineligibility of applying YYGs sales and upgrades to steam purchases has been discussed here numerous times. Studio can be an expensive piece of software, Caution and a little research should be used before buying it, especially from a third party when it's available from the creator.

This same discussion happens every YYGs sale, it's going to happen again.

It's going to get real ugly when Studio 2.0 comes out.

Steam users should seriously consider biting the bullet on their original steam purchase, take advantage of this sale, so they can take advantage of YYG's future sales and upgrade incentives.

If the Bible truly is inspired by God, you would think that somebody as omnipotent and all-knowing would have known to get his message out using TCP instead of UDP.

okay that kinda, sorta makes sense. As you can see I am new here and didn't know that this was a re-occuring discussion. May be I follow your advice and throw away the 50 euros I just paid for Studio to take advantage of these sales. Hurts though :(
