Hi guys,

Since the last beta update (I think), I'm having an strange issue:

Every time I run the game in windows, the console is flooded with the same OpenAL error:

OpenAL error: 40964 (Audio_Tick Start)
OpenAL error: 40964 (Audio_Tick End)
AL Error : 0000a004(40964)

This makes the game unplayable and untesteable after few seconds because the PC is severly punished and slowed down.

The most strange part of the issue is that my game has no sound or sound event yet. And even with a fresh new project this still happening to me.

So, I'm afraid this is related to some internal Bug.

Is this happening to anyone else?

On the other hand, I tried to find a setup to reinstall the openAL in my PC (to discard any incompatibility issue)

but unfortunately I'm not able to find one :S

cheers!

Ok,

I messed around with the windows audio control panel, changing some of the preferences and the configurations and after two reboots the problem disapeared.

I have a couple of audio interfaces installed (I use both to make music and remixes) and it looks like this was the cause of this error.

Curiously, the very same audio configuration was working for me with the previous GM version....

Anyway, it's solved :D

cheers!

BTW, Does somebody know how to change the topic of the thread to set it as [SOLVED]?

Hey Neodroid, I must thank you for posting this because I had the same problem. I am using FL Studio to create music. But to reduce input lag from my keyboard I use ASIO4ALL. In order to do that though, I need to disable my normal sound device, which I guess was causing problems for GM :-)

Hi Toxigames,

Nice to hear that!

Really it was a headache, and at the beginning I thougt it was even a bug from the engine... but after a while messing with the drivers and the sound panel I noticed that it was just that.

Anyway, glad to help ;)
