I need help in in importing the .gmres file to my project(in game maker 8.1).

In older versions it seems to be there is import resources option in the file menu.

But in game maker 8.1 there is no such option.

Help me to import the file...

Thankx in advance

Assuming it is a registered version (GM8.1 Standard):

Select File from the top menu and ensure Advanced is ticked (you may need to restart GM afterwards)

(Note Import is not available on Lite versions)

Studio has a new resource import and export mechanism and does not use the old GMRES files, which were problematic to say the least.

In previous versions of GameMaker it was a complicated business to import and export files from one project to another, and if you weren't careful you could end up with a corrupt game or loss of data. Thankfully, that has all changed with GameMaker:Studio as the *.gmx format makes sharing resources between projects a simple and painless procedure.

Enter Importing Resources into its Help Index for full details.
