The language option should be the first visible option (preferably on, or even before the title screen) - if you don't know the language, navigating all other options and menus is a pretty difficult experience. Having it first (and represented by flags or something) ensures the majority of the players can switch to a language they understand... second page of the menu seems like a really bad place to put it IMO.

You could just do like e.g. Mickey's Speedway USA and have the first thing the player see being a bunch of flags labelled "English", "Espagñol" etc so they can choose the appropriate language, and then display splash screens and title screens and stuff. I'm not using any external files or programs, they are coded already, the only language that may be poorly done is in english, but I hope that's not the case.

I hope this doesn't bother anyone, but most of the games are already set in english by default.

Or they buy whatever they can get hold of and English is the most standard version. Also, knowing what words like "file" and "start menu" means won't necessarily mean you can follow a complex RPG plot in that language.

Damn, you've been working on this for a very long time! :) I tried it out and it sure is very functional. :) But I think, if you want to get more recognizable, you definitely need better art.

  • Screenshot mode has been fixed
  • autodetect language.
  • some BGMs added.
  • An explosion effect has been added.

Signature says Underworld 2015 but there's only Underworld 2014.

But in all honest, is interpolation on or off? I think this game's feel would be conveyed a lot better without interpolation.

I agree with shadow gamer, you should turn it off completely.. Makes the game look blurry. It doesn't work very well together with pixel art..

ok here is but I'm not sure about this.

Update!

  • You can shoot throught walls!, this function is enabled for the 2013 Style.
  • Rage spider is now available as boss!
  • A secret object is available, it unlocks all the skills for the character, go and find it!

The shop is only available for Red Wing (2014 Style), you can open it by pressing "Down" in front of the merchant.

 

There are different ways to cure yourself, it depends by the character too.

Today is February 7th, somewhat close to April 7th, which is the date for the coming game (Remake?).

 

The Underworld 2015 is a Work in progress, and the sub-title is being reconsidered because the lack of time.

 

This version will come for Gamepad support only, unless a team of highly trained monkeys comes to do the work.

An almost advanced gameplay for the characters and some huge changes in graphics of the environment. (yes, the interpolation is on)

Today is April 30, it's the last day of this awesome month!

 

now the news!

 

the game is going to be cancelled as I can't manage to make any more resources, details and gameplay, but that's not the only reason!
I'd really like to finish it, but there's nothing new I can't show and I don't have the time...so let's forget that I was going to make a 2015 version and just enjoy The Underworld - 2014.

i like this game, its vary cool and i like how you've stuck with it as is shown by your past updates, tho, if you plan on "expanding" the game, would you be able to make it a bit more clear as to what the point of the game is, and how it controls

 

its just that trying to pick up and play the game is hard from my perspective as there is little to explain what your mission is, or how you control you character

 

other then that i like it, best of luck to ya mate =D

hi, Great game.

 

Loved the graphics and the toughens of game. those birds are tough!

 

The only issues i had were

 

- i found the controls confusing. how do you collect the coins?

- having the esc key quit the game when reading the signposts is a tad unfair as this is the natural key to press when returning from an event like this.

 

apart from that and once i got the control idea i had a lot of fun with it.

Hi people :)
This game is currently set as finished and a manual will be added to it sometime later. The newer version is going to come for users with gamepad, so the gameplay buttons won't be a problem and the enemies difficulty will decrease.
