Oh, my bad. That makes much more sense now that I actually see how hard it is with large hitboxes. Sorry, >.<
Anyway, review time! woo!
The visuals of this game are very smooth and effective. The arcade-style pixelated images that are very simple and stylish. I think it's pretty clever how you used the amoeba floating around in the background. They give the game depth and add a nice touch of motion. Your way of switching colors between rooms is a clever way of giving distinction between bosses. Plus, the upbeat music fits very well and loops smoothly. The enemies are well designed, the gameplay has a good balance, and using the wasd keys to fire instead of the mouse makes the game all the more unique and challenging. Overall, you did an awesome job!
Only a few suggestions:
- Add a counter/bar that shows virus' health
- Add hearts to show the player's lives
- Make it so that the game always starts from the first enemy, instead of picking up in the room where you last left off but with no score. (I don't know if this was intentional or not)
Just a few thoughts I had while playing,
Anyway, good luck and happy jamming! Hope you get a high place
