got the sprite to go through a door however there's a problem the sprite can't use the same door to go back to the first room when It's in the second room
I need is a code that makes the sprite go through door1 appears in room2 go through door2 appears in room1 with a fade out also need to know if there's a way to set character sprite in front of door object so sprite will appear in front of door when the screen for room2 appears.
Thanks if you reply.

Step 2: Moving between rooms.
Step 3. Player
Create an instance, and place it next to all the doors, outside of the trigger range.
Then move the player to that instance using instance_nearest.

I would like to know how to do this useing the drag and drop icons in game maker 8 pro
Also I do not have Game maker studio and know nothing about it and would like to know if it's any good.
Lastly on my list of things to know slash get what is the dudes Lybary for game maker and is it worth getting.
some one on another thread mentioned the dudes Lybary and posted a hyper link to get it but tg he hyper link did not work need to get that.
But most importantly I need a code to make my sprite go from room 1 to room 2 and useing the same door go back to room1.
Thanks if you reply and just letting you know I'm not trying to be rude to you the reader it's just that I think that there should be a way to do this with the drag and drop Icons, thanks again.
Oh and thanks MR mrpeanut188 your post would be most helpful if I understood it but I do not especially the first part of your post
0 = no effect
1 = Create from left
2 = Create from right
3 = Create from top
4 = Create from bottom
5 = Create from center
6 = Shift from left
7 = Shift from right
8 = Shift from top
9 = Shift from bottom
10 = Interlaced from left
11 = Interlaced from right
12 = Interlaced from top
13 = Interlaced from bottom
14 = Push from left
15 = Push from right
16 = Push from top
17 = Push from bottom
18 = Rotate to the left
19 = Rotate to the right
20 = Blend the rooms
21 = Fade out and in
Then set variable transition_kind to that number to set the transition.
???? where do you get any of that is that in the dudes Lybary or something?
Oh and the second part of your post made sense to me but when I put it into game maker the code did not respond to anything for some reason.
And lastly I understood that step 3 part so thanks and If I ever figure out any of the rest of this I'll let you know.
