We are pleased to announce that anyone who purchases GameMaker: Studio Master Collection will automatically receive new modules as they are released for GameMaker: Studio 1.x, for no additional charge, increasing the value of the Master Collection hugely.

If you have purchased GameMaker: Studio Professional and ALL modules by the end of October* for any existing and new purchases, will get an upgrade at no additional cost to the Master Collection level, allowing everyone to take part in this offer.

The YoYo Team....

Just for my own clarification.

I'd purchased Studio before it was divided into seperate tiers, along with the HTML5 and Android modules.

I recently also had these licenses transferred to Steam.

So, I should be able to purchase the iOS module from your website, receive a Steam key for that module, and then both my Steam and non-Steam licenses would be upgraded to GM:Studio Master, entitling me to any future modules for GM:S 1.x?

If you purchase from our Website we will upgrade you to Master Collection (on the day mentioned above) and then you will receive any updates (and the Steam Key to go with them).

We will be working with Valve to implement the same deal on Steam, but that is unconfirmed at this time.

Just to be clear, purchasing the Master Collection through Steam does receive all future updates. It's the piecemeal purchasing by EOM that's not yet confirmed with Steam?

This is sooooo tempting as I just started playing with GM:S 3 days ago!

To be clear if you purchase the Master Collection (through us or Steam) you will receive all the future modules...

The only bit we have to work with Valve on is the piecemeal purchases and classifying those.

I have GM Studio with HTML5 and Android modules, I was not interested in purchasing the final IOS module until I had a bestseller.... but I must have it now to complete the collection.

Update....

I just purchased IOS module. So I now have Windows, Mac Os X, HTML5, iOS and Android in my Target dropdown. I think that makes me eligible to be classed as "Master Collection" now?

Same here. I didn't plan on getting the iOS one unless I actually had the equipment..but getting the Windows 8 modules + whatever comes next all for free would be wonderful.

So if I buy the missing modules I complete the master collection, but I can't do this on steam to get the 10% bonus, right?

I'd like to make sure before buying on yoyogames because I really wouldn't mind a little steam deal :)

You can get the 10% off on the YYG website, also if you buy though YYG you will get Steam keys. :)

I bought master collection because everything I needed ended up being $400.00, so I figured... might as well dish another $100.00 to save $100.00 in the long run... I'm glad I did after hearing this announcement. I didn't even know about it, just bought master collection yesterday.

The modules will be applied in steam, but there is no "special" license in steam, so it won't display that - but you will get your free modules.

Looks like I am going to have to upgrade my computer first....

System requirements
Supported operating systems: Windows 8, Windows 8 Pro

Windows 8 64-bit (x64) client versions
Hardware:
4 GB of free hard disk space
4 GB RAM
64-bit (x64) CPU
Windows Phone 8 Emulator:
Windows 8 Pro edition or greater
Requires a processor that supports Second Level Address Translation (SLAT)
If your computer meets the hardware and operating system requirements, but does meet the requirements for the Windows Phone 8 Emulator, the Windows Phone SDK 8.0 will install and run. However, the Windows Phone 8 Emulator will not function and you will not be able to deploy or test apps on the Windows Phone 8 Emulator.

Nah it's not delivered yet. It does however have a standard and a professional version and I'm pretty sure I ordered the standard on account of it being cheaper.

So, I have a Copy of GMS with iOS module. If I were to buy the other modules that are out say in January, am I still able to get the upgrade to master collection and if not is there going to be a way to upgrade to master collection. I am asking cause it would be kind of silly if have spent 300$ already and spend another 499.97 and can't get master collection since its about the same price.

Plus there is a bit of principle here as I want to be able to upgrade even if it cost the same. I would feel like I lost the 300$ other wise. I already missed my chance to upgrade my 8.0 to 8.1 so hope I didn't miss out on this too by not having enough cash at the right time.

Thanks

We are pleased to announce that anyone who purchases GameMaker: Studio Master Collection will automatically receive new modules as they are released for GameMaker: Studio 1.x, for no additional charge, increasing the value of the Master Collection hugely.

If you have purchased GameMaker: Studio Professional and ALL modules by the end of October* for any existing and new purchases, will get an upgrade at no additional cost to the Master Collection level, allowing everyone to take part in this offer.

The YoYo Team....

* (this will be 1st November 11am GMT, for fact fans)

Hi,

I bought the Master Collection early October, but have not received any key for the Windows 8 Phone module.

Using the webform, I requested all my keys be resent to my registered email address, but it does not include a WIndows 8 Phone module key. My Steam activated keys show up as Studio Professional (with the Android, HTML5 and iOS modules) - not Master Collection.

Is there anything I need to do / register / execute to get the system to recognise me as a Master Collection owner, or am I jumping the gun on things and this is still being rolled out?

Thanks,

Damien

There are no separate keys for new modules, it's always the same one you used to register GMS for the first time.

Go to Help -> Update License, enter your GMS key, then restart GMS.

Hi GameGeisha,

Firstly, apologies for the delay in coming back to you - I've been offline for a while.

Secondly, thank you for the advice - I'm now up and running with Windows 8 Phone module attached to my GameMaker Studio install.

However, I still see an issue in that there is no Steam Activation for Windows 8 Phone module. My steam install doesn't have an option to add licenses, and I don't have a Steam key for Windows 8 Phone (the other Master Collection modules came with Steam Keys so they could be activated on Steam).

Thus, I can either use the YoYo Games installation with all my modules, or use Steam (my preferred option), but not have access to Windows 8 Phone or (I presume) any future Master Collection modules without purchasing them again on Steam.

This seems a little strange - has anyone got their Master Collection Windows 8 Phone module to activate on steam (now that its officially out on Steam
) without requiring a fresh copy of the module to be purchased?

Damien
