I know they fixed it for 1.1.455, but they still haven't released it yet.
I'm currently working on implementing the new sound engine, so this is leaving me dead in the water until then.

You DO actually test it?

Because sometimes there is more than one build during the day, GMS is still tested by people in office (QA and others), and when they don't encounter any serious bugs then latest version became public release - so testing doesn't mean that it will be for sure released, but it's highly possible

I can load a 1 minute mp3 and it plays the first ten seconds over and over rather than the full thing, I will test some more combinations before I do report and just to be sure I will restart my machine before reporting too.

I know I can play the MP3 files fine outside of GM, and I haven't tried outputting to the target device yet, I have just been testing the game in GM:Studio in windows. I will try the re-encoding and also sending the output to my phone for testing, it might be just a development environment 'thing', I will post on here if I get it working after your tip.

It encodes the files as well does it not? That's where my problems lie, setting the wrong bit rates within GM broke the audio for me. After setting them back to default, everything works. This leads me to believe that it doesn't just point to the native player.GameMaker:Studio does very little with the MP3 other than point the native player at the file.
