I use GM7 Pro, I tried to use the my existing pro license to upgrade to GM8 Pro, but for some reason Mr. Overmars wants me to pay ANOTHER 20 dollars to upgrade. (this wasn't a problem when I had GM6 and transferred the license to GM7...)

Anyways, I use GM7, and I noticed that there are some really weird graphical glitches when I try to play Nancy's Rainbowland on Windows 7 (a 3D game) - Nancy appears to clip MAJORLY through the floor, and only the tip of her hat is visible. When chugging along on my Windows XP, it looks fine; She is not clipping through the floor at all.

It is also good to note that Nancy is actually a 2D sprite pasted on a 3D block (not a wall), while everything else is rendered in full 3D.

I am aware that once upon a time, there was a tool that you could download from YoYo Games that fixed compatibility issues with GM6 games running on Vista. Is there another program like that I can use, or is there no hope for me?

Have you tried running in compatibility mode?
That's all I've got without resorting to 3rd party software.

I have this problem with GM7 on Windows 7:
Posted Image
The tabs for the action libraries are blank! If anybody knows how to fix this, that would be great. I actually didn't notice it at first because I mostly use that center tab with the "execute code" or "execute script" action.

I don't know anything about troubleshooting the actual games though. It sounds to me like a difference in graphics hardware is rendering the game differently. I can't really guess anything beyond that.

Well, compatibility mode never works for me when I use it, so no sense trying that. These graphical glitches are also a problem with other people who have played the game.

Your solution is to buy GM8, or GM:Studio. Or use one of their free versions. Where you get this idea that you buy a product once and get new versions for the rest of your life is just silly.

This is not a problem with Windows 7, its a problem with 64-bit OSes, the same thing happened with GM7 and XP-64, as well as Vista-64. It wasn't fixed in GM-7, but was addressed in GM8.x and Studio.

My 8.1 wont run in 64 bit Windows 7. Its not fixed for all.

Which has nothing to with what I said.

'its a problem with 64-bit OSes'

Nothing, nothing at all?

No, it has nothing to do with what I said.

This is what I said.

I am talking about the specific problem of vertical text not being displayed on the side tabs, on 64-bit OSes. GM8.1 not running at all on your Windows 7-64 bit system, has NOTHING to do with the specific problem of the vertical fonts not being displayed.

Here, let me put it another way that you might be able to understand.

Lets say BIG J has a Toyota, and he posts a message saying, "I'm having a problem with the windshield wipers on my 2007, Toyota".
Then I advise him "That's a problem that has been addressed in the 2008, Toyotas".
Then along comes C_Pike and says, "It's NOT fixed at all, my 2008 Toyota won't even start".

Do you see, now? Your 2008 Toyota not running, has nothing to do with the 2007 models winshield wipers not working.

Your 8.1 not working in Win7-64, has nothing to do with the vertical font not being displayed.

Nice analogy.
My apologies, I did misread... quite spectacularly I must admit.
