Lots of people want to host mafia games, but that is not going to happen if we keep going with this method. Instead, we need a fair and organised way to host mafia games, that lets everyone be a mod.
MAFIA RULES (Copied from Electroman's original topic, credits to him for bringing this amazing game to us)
Spoiler
How to play this, man?
How will it work here, then?
Spoiler
It's quite simple. Sort of. There are two teams, townies and mafiosi. The townies' job is to discover and kill all the mafiosi, also known as scum, while the mafia's job is to simply kill townies. When the number of mafiosi is equal or greater than the number of townies, then the mafia wins. On the other hand, if the whole mafia is killed, the townies win.
Now, here's where it gets interesting. No one knows the role of anybody, except fellow mafiosi. So, townies have to use their judgment to correctly identify the mafiosi in their community. Meanwhile, mafiosi will try to stay undercover and blend in with the rest of the crowd.
So, Electroman - you ask - how do we kill people?
There are two phases in the game. One is nighttime and the other is daytime. During daytime, people discuss (here) who they should lynch and everybody votes for someone to die that day. When everybody votes and the person is lynched, we enter nighttime. This is where mafiosi discuss between each other through PM who they should kill. When they all agree on someone, they PM me who it is and I declare the death of that person here. Then the next day cycle starts over and it all loops again.
Only the majority of the votes counts. If the votes are even, random.org will decide who gets lynched that day. When a person dies you learn of his/her role.
If you die, you're done. You can't take part in the discussion in any way until the next round. You can, however, win if your alignment wins at the end of the round. The winning conditions of each role depends and are explained at the bottom.

Spoiler
When you sign up I will randomly assign you your role. I will then PM you your role and Day One starts. The number of townies/mafiosi will depend on the total number of people. If six people join, there will be one mafioso, for example. If there are 9 people, there will 2 mafiosi, and so on.
During daytime, when you all finish discussing or when you decide who to lynch, you may place your vote. Please bold it so it is easier for me (I'm lazy, whaddya want?). After that, l announce the death and the role of the person and nighttime begins, where mafiosi will send their target to me, like I previously stated. When Day Two begins, I will again announce the death and role of the person who died, and daytime begins once again.
Self-voting is allowed, so is voting for No Lynch. Whenever you want to remove your vote, you may post (and bold) Unvote. Also, type it before you change your vote. You are given ample time to discuss and try to get your train of thought going, so don't toss off your vote for nothing right at the beginning of the game.
Also, I will have a prodding system. Every member should post at least once every 48 hours (2 days) to get the game moving and avoid long drawn out waiting periods. If they don't, they get prodded. I still have to decide what to do with a member that has been prodded a lot. Every time they are prodded, I send them a PM and tell them they haven't posted in 48 hours.
Finally, any form of external discussion is, obviously, strictly forbidden unless it is stated by the rules to do so (like mafia meetings), be it through PM, IM, chatrooms, forums, etc. If you get contacted by someone else in a situation like that, please warn me.
Also, to avoid some... unwanted incidents that have happened before, posting screenshots of a PM sent by me (be it either real or faked) to prove your alignment will warrant an automatic modkill, no questions asked. Editing posts is also kinda sorta against the rules... Look, if you edit your post, I can normally let it slide, if it is, for instance, to fix a mistake or something small of the sort, or even changing one or two words if no one notices it. If someone else complains you edited your post in a substantial manner, however, I will take it to consideration.

How moderation will work
Spoiler
The idea for this topic is that after every mafia game hosted here, a new player will come along and mod the next game. Meaning that we get fair and even moderation without overloading the forum with mafia games.
One a game is finished, people will post in the topic describing the game they would like to host, the mod of the last game will pick out of those applications which one he wishes to play, a new game will start with the setup he chose and moderation by the person that suggested it.
Bob: 7 player game, 6 cops one mafia
Dan: A closed setup game with a holiday theme.
George: 12 player game, 3 mafia, one watcher one tracker one vig one doc and a mafia roleblocker.
Danny (Hosted last mafia game): I'll wait for more applications.
Jack: 12 player game, two mafia factions in opposition to each other, each faction with 2 people in it. Each faction only wins if town AND other faction are eliminated.
Danny: Yes that one.
Lawsome: OK GAME START, Jack is the mod, setup is "12 player game, two mafia factions in opposition to each other, each faction with 2 people in it. Each faction only wins if town AND other faction are eliminated."
Etc...
So the first person to post in this topic will be treated as the "Host of last mafia game" then we can have some suggestions for setups come through.
