What, I didn't put any words in your mouth at all...the second part of my post wasn't even directed towards you. Maybe if you said what words I put in your mouth I'd better understand.

You said that "they should be stigmatized" sarcastically, and I thought you were implying that I said something along those lines, when I said nothing of the sort.

And if you read more carefully, You will see that I did not confront the second part of your post.

Okay, I misread. What I was saying is that there are people who are unhappy with circumcision.

Anyway, what do you mean by stigmatized, anyway?

Really guys? This argument used to be interesting, now it's just sad.

We've gone from talking about morals and consent to discussing which type of penis girls prefer more.

We've gone from debating over what allowing circumcision really means when applied to other morals or laws to whether getting a scar or a patch of skin removed is a disfigurement or mutilation.

This discussion has effectively turned to mush.

P.S.: I think getting a scar counts whatever I was doing as a disfigurement of my body.
I once got a scar on my leg from playing outside.
Therefore, playing outside is a disfigurement of my body, and nobody should be allowed to do such without consenting to playing outside!
Let's put a stop to mothers telling kids to go play outside, because its as mutilating and silly as a parent suggesting to their child to go get circumcised!

My wife and I considered this issue very carefully. We educated ourselves by reading lots of material pro/con about circumcision. We consulted doctors about potential risks and benefits. We discussed this topic with other parents to get their experiences on both sides. Then we made a decision we felt was in the best interest of our children.

So I think both topics are interesting -- but I prefer discussing the latter.
