I've read somewhere that HTML5 can read/write to your HDD. Game maker can now use HTML5, right? <-- sarcasm. This brings me to my question.
Would it be at all possible to make in-game upgrades/downloads with GM from an HTML5 game? Like, I know its possible or gunna be possible with all of the other platforms, IOS/Android/PC/Mac. And since the game can access the users computer, it should be possible to do on HTML5 too, right?
Lets assume the player opens my auto-updater/DLC downloader. The player then downloads whatever DLC he wants for 99c for his PC version of my game. He accidentally deletes the game or whatever, then goes to Kong to continue playing. Since its the same game, the HTML5 version reads the same folder as the .exe version, which loads up the DLC.
Possible? If so, anyone have a working GMK example?
Cheers,
Sir.
