Hai. I am making a metroidvania in GameMaker.
I would like to know how Matt makes the map screen like he does it in his game AnUntitledStory.
I've heard that he uses arrays but I have no ideas where to start with those. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I think its just some sprites drawn and code checking in what room you are and where to achieve it

Which includes that room system he used (at least he says it does!)
