I'm fixing to spend another $200  (for iOS export module) in Studio, and have only 1 activation left on my Studio lic key. If something were to happen to my computer, would my $400 just go down the drain? Or does YYG offer some way to transfer your export modules that you paid so much money for to a new license key, only having to pay $99?

Spending $400 on a piece of software is a lot of money, and professional companies usually have a good license tracking system to deal with system loss.

Any thoughts?

Studio licenses don't get "used up" as they did in Softwrap.

Long story short, so long as you're not caught running multiple installations at the same time, you're a-ok.

Same thing, are you wanting to run them at the same time? They seem to fine on multiple machines as long as only one is actually running at a time, you are within your rights according to the license. I think the official number of installs is 2. Either way, it isn't like the old softwrap, and if it doesn't want to license, you can file a support request and explain the situation. If you aren't doing anything wrong, you shouldn't have any problems.

I really wouldn't worry about it. I run GMS on two computers - my portable laptop and my main desktop workstation. My understanding is that you get three 'active installs' of GMS. Even if you format or something and make it think you've done more, I'm sure a quick explanation to support will rectify the situation.

The activation system is there to prevent a studio of 15 people buying one licence of the software and using it for everyone, not to screw over solitary devs. :)

I actually use GMStudio in two different computers in two different places (I bought it 3 days ago :D)... I don't plan to use them at the same time (Obviously, as I can't be at 2 different places at the same time :D), but today I just noticed that when I left home to go to work, I left my computer on and GMStudio was running, I had forgot to close it. If I had opened it in my other computer, would I be in trouble?

And where's the license info where all this stuff is written? There was nothing about any of this in the EULA when I installed the program...

Edit:

DUH, just found the License info. I'm reading it now.

Edit2:

You must not ..... use the Software on more than three computers at the same time where you are the sole user and owner of the computers on which it is used and do not provide access nor permit the use of the Software by others;

This is written in the license. So I guess I can actually have the program running on 3 computers at the same time, as long as I am the only one using it.

We only care about concurrent uses, so as long as your not actively using it on several machines at once, your fine.

Don't worry about "activations", just how many machines your using it on.
