Each time i either run a game from within game maker, or create a stand alone executable, two windows show in the task bar of windows 8. Like when you have two tabs open in a browser and you can hover to see both. Game maker does this for games but each of the the two screen previews is identical. I have played with the global game settings but cannot seem to find a way to stop this! Any body know how to solve this?
I hope i have explained this well enough for you to understand :D and any help would be appreciated!

It sounds like a bug with Windows 8. I wouldn't know though, I haven't seen it on Windows XP or Windows 7.

Which version of GM and are you running HTML5 code or normal old-fashioned generic code? Java caused similar issues in Windows 7. But your'e not alone, other people have had duplicated taskbar buttons in Windows 8.

Thanks for your help guys and sorry for the late reply! I didnt have the issue in Windows 7 so i am going to take it as a Windows 8 bug.

It's a compatibility problem between Game Maker and Windows 8, not a Windows bug.
