Hey, I'm making a 2d platformer adventure game with a dungeon/evil/scary sort of feel. But i'm having trouble finding suitable backgrounds. Any ones you guys can share with me that you know of? As I said i'd prefer backgrounds that is just like a wall not features like stairs rooms etc it looks strange in my game

This site is mostly for a Photoshop plugin that generates textures, but in that regards they also got a whole bunch of textures available that you can download and use. All seamless, which is fantastic and means that they can be tiled indefinitely.

When making maps for my games, I've had some success in searching for textures and then applying them to my map environment. Something simple like bricks can probably be used rather well as a background. Just colorize it to match your game, fiddle with some contrast, etc.
This is one kind of texture, though, and might not fit your game at all. Maybe you'd need something smaller and pixelated?
