GameMaker: Studio Demos Taking Place at YoYo Games Booth No. 160 August 13 & 14
YoYo Games today announces that Russell Kay, chief technology officer and Mike Dailly, head of development, will present at The Game Developers Conference™ Europe (GDC Europe), taking place in Cologne, Germany August 13-15. Both Kay and Daily will present on two aspects of modern game development with insights based in part on their work developing recently launched GameMaker: Studio, the company’s cross-platform game development technology. YoYo Games’ booth is No. 160 and will be open August 13 and 14 for demos of GameMaker: Studio and soon-to-be-announced ground-breaking functionality.
In a presentation titled “Applying Retro Techniques to HTML5 Development,” Kay draws on tips and tricks that can now be used to ensure fluid, high-quality gaming experiences in HTML5. Dailly will be hosting another technical talk titled “The Voodoo Art of Dynamic WebGL” where he’ll be discussing WebGL and how to harness its power at a low level for the development of 2D games, and 3D particle effects in a 2D game context.
“Applying Retro Techniques to HTML5 Development” with Russell Kay – Monday, August 13 at 5:30 p.m.
“The Voodoo Art of Dynamic WebGL” with Mike Dailly – Tuesday, August 14 at 2:30 p.m.

Any chance these will be filmed and posted for us to view? As much as I'd like to fly to Germany on a whim, that's unlikely to happy
GDC Vault contains lots of past GDC sessions. Only a few of them are available for free, though.

Tell me about itThat laziness will get back at you when you are creating games, Jobo.
On a serious note though, if you're lazy when you're hired to make games for other people - which are the only times I make games (for profit) - then you won't get a lot of clients

I've been working all day. I need to get VMWare or VirtualBox to work. VMWare worked but had no internet connection. Sheesh. Tried everything.

What are these major partnerships?
Must be the new partnership with Newgrounds! :D [/sarcasm]
In all seriousness, I wish I was there. Hopefully I can get lucky and the recording of some parts of someone from YoYo presenting will be free. I'm very interested in the future of YoYoGames and the future of GM in general.
