For those of you who get an error when trying to execute the game like "error defining an external function" or such you should try this 2 ways of fixing it:
  • Give admin rights to Demo.exe
  • Install the demo in a different location (a public dir)
(This error happens because of a lack of rights in windows vista / 7 for people who uses that.... uac system :yucky: )

All feedback is welcome. Please let us know what you think about this game.
Thanks,
regards.

150+ views and noone have nothing to say?
I know it's hard to take the risk about the game as it's commercial... but what about the demo? it's free
**Btw the demo link got updated a few days ago to fix a bug (a demo-only bug not in the final game)
Any feedback is really appreciated

Downloading demo now.

Never mind, please pick a diffrent host/mirror instead of mediafire. It just keeps reloading the page after I click download.

hello,
here is the new link - download
I chose mediafire because there's almost no limit in download speed for free users there. This time is uploaded to megashares.
I hope this time works if not just let me know and recommend me some host to mirror it for you

**Updating the first post; adding the mirror link to the demo.

The graphics are good, and the controls are smooths, but this game is too similar to other space shooter type games for me to invest any money in it.

Thank you for your feedback :)
Maybe in the playstyle, you're right, it's too similar to other games of this genre but in terms of story is really where the game marks the difference. But it's hard to find out this in the demo as is just a one-stage demo with just the basics (all the upgrades aren't on it aswell as the autoupgrades; things you can obtain when you win a stage and maybe would make the playstyle a bit different from the rest)
Anyway thank you, i know it's hard to take the risk nowadays.
By the way here is a review of the game made by an user who bought the game

I came here to bring up some news. DYFSOFT is now celebrating is first anniversary and because of that we decided to make a cut-down to the price of the game to the lowest possible. The main post it's updated with the new price wich is 2.60$ / 2€. We hope that if the reason why some people didn't buy it yet was because of it's high price take now this chance and buy it to be ready for the upcoming DLC!
Greetings.

@boxyman_16 - Thank you! ^_^

We couldn't let pass the anniversary without showing off some stuff about this 'Patch'(?) of AlbatrosStorm. Before saying anything here you have three screenshots:

What do you think? ... For the most clueless, here is some info on the changes, but I think are obvious:

Graphic change: One of the most criticized things, the use of different graphic styles in the map, has been fixed. Right?
Albatross on the bottom of the screen: One thing demanded by those who have played, now you will have more time to react to the obstacles.
New HUD: More in line with the new graphic style.
Radar: As if it was unhelpful, the new placement of the ship, we will add a small radar that displays some important elements information such as enemies.
2 Auto-Mejoras: Added a second slot of Auto-Mejora. We'll see its behavior in the future.
Skills: New capabilities for AlbatrosStorm. These capabilities will provide new aid, such as multiply your points by two.
Equipment: The equipment provides special weapons to our ship in exchange for fuel.
Points-Warning: Now you will see the points you're getting.
Ship Customization: Friends of tuning have reasons to celebrate, because AlbatrosStorm is now customizable. Color, appearance, skills and equipment will be the things to change in this new menu.
We are also trying to implement the use of joystick in the game itself, to avoid having to pull on Xpadder.
And this is just a small list compared to the total list of changes included in 'Code: R'

We hope you like these changes. To keep updated please visit our web

Kind of an odd mishmash of outline/fill styles in those screenshots there friend. Kind of looks like a photoshop pencil filter over everything Posted Image There's also quite a bit of odd little transparency artifacts on many of the sprites. Are those final assets?

Hello!
About the style (pencil filter over everything-like) is what we wanted to achieve. An original style. The original style was criticized because of the mix of different kind of styles (some things like explosions or backgrounds was realist-like and some others were drawn style-like).
About the transparency artifacts i didn't realised until now lol. In movement was unnoticeable at least for me. Anyway those are not final assets yet. Help me find out more artifacts because i can only find'em in the white-hexagons. Are they in other places too?
Thanks!

Using an indirect link with a free hoster feels cheap for the demo of a commercial game.
The demo file is huge.
The intro (in the video) with the rain is nice, but where in moves towards "Project S", the animation stops too suddenly. The graphics (sprites) don't really match with each other or with the background. It doesn't feel visually consistent. Of course the demo is an installer... no thanks.

I can't even buy the game directly at the site you link to (which looks bloated btw)?

I'm sorry to say this, but I really would not pay for this.

Thank very much for your feedback! and sorry for the delay we've been very busy. Well just to point out some things:

Using an indirect link with a free hoster feels cheap for the demo of a commercial game.
The demo file is huge.

Well even if the game is a commercial one it doesn't mean we're rich or anything like that so at the moment we can't pay for our own hosting. That's why we had to use a free hoster. Anyway you can still download the demo directly from here. Yeah it was an error on our side not to link to this link instead of that to mediafire. But didn't know that was bad. So that will be solved! thanks.
About the huge filesize well it's not so huge. I mean the times when the indie games were about 1mb are gone or atleast i think so if you try to make a 720p game with so much sprites, original music in ogg, etc. Still nothing for a dsl-net speed. There is nothing we can do about it sorry.

The intro (in the video) with the rain is nice, but where in moves towards "Project S", the animation stops too suddenly. The graphics (sprites) don't really match with each other or with the background. It doesn't feel visually consistent. Of course the demo is an installer... no thanks.

Well i have to admit that the video is not really good overall (that logo thing, you can't hear the game itself only music, not the best clips to show, etc). That's another thing we're going to fix with the release of Code:R. About the sprites doesn't really matching, well it's well known and is being worked on for Code:R aswell as you can read (and see) in the post above yours where i say "The original style was criticized because of the mix of different kind of styles (some things like explosions or backgrounds was realist-like and some others were drawn style-like)."
About the installer, well you see the free host as a bad thing for a commercial game and the installer too. I think that almost every professional game use an installer. Oh and the installer creator was free that's why we used it. But yeah you're right we already realised that all the installer-crap thing is a pain in the ass for the majority of the people so we're taking it off aswell with Code:R. It will be just an unrar and play.

I can't even buy the game directly at the site you link to (which looks bloated btw)?

We linked to our entry where the stores are and with more info explained there that's why. Still it's not too far from there (just one more link where you chose your preffered store). Anyway the links are here too Indievania Store and Kawagames Store. It really looks bloated? :/ We're sorry about that. That's the new design of the blog we chosen because everything can be read better now than before and now it's in harmony with all the section and so.

I'm sorry to say this, but I really would not pay for this.

With Code:R (btw dated for a 2013 release) we'll try to change up your mind in that ^_^ We'll keep this topic updated with any news about Code:R.

Thanks once again for your feedback as we really appreciate it! We're working to solve everything that looks bad or odd around/in the game.
