Maverick22 A new license has been sent to you.

Everyone else. Please uninstall GameMaker:Studio, and then delete folders

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\GameMaker-Studio
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\GameMaker-Studio

Then reinstall and validate your license again.

If it STILL fails to work, please file a PRIVATE bug and tell us your license key, and we'll look into it ASAP. Please be aware, it's quite late here now, so if we don't get to it today, it'll be handled first thing tomorrow.

Nervware, The only license filed to the email used on here is a beta one. So I assume you used a different email. Please file a private bug and tell us your license (if the above doesn't work)

Thanks Mike! I appreciate the great support.

Can you say if there is an equivalent to those directories in Windows XP?
I don't see anything similar.

Their support has a history of getting these things fixed as fast as they can. They have always been top notch.

From what I noticed GMS creates the lincese.plist and then delete it after leaving the licencing screen.

It recognizes my license, it just has the same problems, re-enter license everytime, object error and no target, i guess i'll just wait a couple of days, already reinstalled and evrything but nothing... i'm guessing the file report is for the people getting invalid license, right? Or should i do it too...?

I got my licesnse just yesterday so i don't think i have a beta key or anything...

Oy yah, can't find that lincese.plist either.

Re-licensing before and after re-installation (after updating) was not a problem. However, even after reinstallation (including deleting the folders mentioned earlier) the target box contains nothing. Sigh.

Quick-ish edit: actually I had not yet tried closing and reopening GM. Turns out I also have the issue where it asks for my license each time.

I saw the 'Required Update' so I choose update and let it download, then I clicked the button to install and run.

I then came here and saw the upgrade problems people were having so I hoped my upgrade was ok.

Clicking the Install and run button was the last I saw of the download, nothing happened.

I ran Gamemaker and found it was still the older version (not updated) so I am leaving it as it is for now until issues are sorted.

It is a sad bug.
Well downgrade to 1.0.292 works but load only 10 scripts from project.

I updated mine yesterday and now it won't allow the Updater to work. When I click on it it will say "Updater stopped working" and it won't open. It's ticking me off.

Yeah don't know if private bug requests will help, since it seems to be a global problem.
Hopefully one of them will post on here and have a solution that works with everyone.

So far none of the solutions given have worked for me.

Please uninstall GameMaker:Studio, and then delete folders

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\GameMaker-Studio
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\GameMaker-Studio

Then reinstall and validate your license again.

I uninstalled. I removed the Roaming folder. The uninstaller took care of the Local folder. I then went ahead to delete the registry entry.

Reinstalled.

Error.

I copied my "license.plist" file from a working installation on another machine. Every time this update tries to validate the license, it deletes the "license.plist" file and fails to replace it, even though it mentions I was licensed successfully. When I use the Help option to Validate License, I get the "GameMaker is unable to validate your license" error message. I download the blacklist file to verify manually, the program resets, and I'm stuck with an unvalidated copy of GM all over again.

This does not help, I still have to enter my key on each opening of GMS.
(I opened a ticket by the way, I am just posting to show this is a real issue that is affecting more than one person. )
