Game Maker failing

I found I was able to open gamemaker just after restarting the computer for some reason, which might be a solution if you're in need of emergency game programming.
GM appears to steal an enormous part of the processing power without even showing up.
EDIT:
Appears it's enough to turn off the internet before starting the program.

BUT. when i open a game & click run, it won't run. i get this error message:
"Error Creating Stand-Alone: Cannot find valid runner data."

Same here! GM fired right up and everything is good.i don't seem to have any problems with game maker now.

I am certainly also happy that it wasn't just me. The issue was driving me crazy. I was wondering whether there could be a problem with having both GM Studio and GM 8.1 installed. Not that there should be, but when you don't know what is going on you can think of many reasons. Fortunately it turnes out that the problem is known and thus is being worked at. That is good.
