The UV saving is an option of the obj converter in Blender.

If you have a d3d file you can save as obj in modelfix

You can then use accutrans3d (in gmmodelfix page) to remerge the shared vertices into a proper vertices array if you want to edit the d3d in blender via the obj format.

Is there a .mtl file? If there are colors, there is a .mtl file. If there is a texture, there is a .mtl file and texture files.

the .mtl file defines the color of the vertices by group, place it in the same folder as the obj (And check with notepad to make sure there is no extra path info for the mtl file reference). GMMF loads the mtl file to know those colors. You also have to tell GMMF to show the color facets. The first large button in the facet menu.
