I find this info sad.

I used to play games with the "Play Now" before downloading them, but now if you want to play ANYTHING, you have to download the game first.
Now I want to know your thoughts about this.

It doesn't bother me too much, but it was a cool feature.

The biggest minuses are that you have to choose where to put a game and remember where you put it.
The plus of downloading is that doesn't need to go on-line.
I liked play now because I didn't need to choose a place to put the games and I didn't get countless games in a folder and I'd get updates when they were available.

It might have been slightly convenient not to have to select a file location, but I've found that it just gave you less control overall. You don't really know where the file goes, you have to play it as soon as it finishes downloading, you can't replay it later without going to the site again, etc.

Personally, I really liked the "Play Now" feature, though.

YoYo did a very thorough job of virus scanning -- and I believe they still do. So I don't think this is a factor either way....there could be a major potential for viruses that go overlooked hidden in those auto-download files.
YoYo abandoned the "play now" plugin because it was too much hassle to keep it compatible with new browser editions.
But personally, I miss the "play now" option too. So I hope they open up the Sandbox to HTML5 games... at some point.

Most websites do a virus check. I doubt YYG is ever going to stop doing their virus checks, after all, I doubt a growing company would enjoy having a reputation for having an official site riddled with viruses.Maybe this is actually a good thing because since the website has changed and the sandbox all but dumped, there could be a major potential for viruses that go overlooked hidden in those auto-download files.

Very true. In fact, visitors probably have more to fear from the advertisements, than from the games. Most websites do a virus check.
