But before speculating further, it would be nice to know what is possible without too much hassle.

If they save all votes and not just change your rep then it's possible, which is most likely that they do since you can only vote once per post. Why not have it so that you can only undo your vote for one minute after you make it? Assuming that is possible, of course.
Just have a time stamp on the votes and check if the current time is less then time stamp + 1 minute.
But I guess they already know how to code that...

There's no reason to modify the forum software to solve a problem caused by carelessness.

The forum is made by Invision Power Services Inc. It's not a matter of how to do it technically, it's whether the forum software supports it.If they save all votes and not just change your rep then it's possible, which is most likely that they do since you can only vote once per post.

It's painful for the developers who have to make sure their software can undo your stupidities...Don't you just love programs that got unlimited undo and redo functions?

I want an undo for the undo action, imagine the tragedy this could cause without one

Then you're suffering from some serious short term memory issues. Also, you could just re-read the post and see if you agree with it or not. What if I rep someone, then accidentally undo the rep I gave and can't remember what I gave initially...
