Hello, Again.

I am a major in computer science and my Head of Dept. sorta caught me working on my own project on GM in the computer labs after hours. Now, he wants me to deliver a workshop on GM, which he has planned like this..
- 2 or 3 Sessions a week.
- Each session being 2 hours
- Can go up to 6 to 8 sessions, in total.

With this, suddenly falling down on my head, I honestly have no clue how to proceed about it. Although I have been smart enough to reserve the whole Computer Lab for it after hours, thinking i might need it. Any ideas as to how I should go about it? Any help and support is greatly appreciated.

Thanks :)

Well if I understand you correctly you are going to be teaching other people how to make games with game maker.

So I would start by making games with them.

Show them the design processes of making a simple game with game maker.

And each new game they make becomes more complicated and covers some other part of game makers functions.

The first game should be something really simple and short.

Something they can play around with and get inspiration for the next session.

You don't need to teach them programming before they start making games.

Just teach them little snippets of each skill set as you go through the design process.

Now I am not a great teacher so my advice may not be perfect but that's just how I would do it.

Whoa, that was fast...
This is really useful. Thanks a lot for the advice. I'll try on the same line, and come up my own way about it.

Meanwhile, More suggestions are welcome!

Whom will you be teaching? If its fellow CS students, you can skimp on the discussion on variables, loops, etc. because they should be pretty familiar with those concepts.
