I have two ideas for high-quality games (not involoving GameMaker).
The first one is a prequel of Valve's "Portal" in which you take part in an experiment of Aperture sciense laboratories,
and have your brain wired to GlaDOS' beta, which creates a virtual world for you.
The game will be quite like Portal 2, but instead of the portal gun you use the GMD (Gravity manipulation device).
It has two functions: Set the direction of gravity, and temporarily set a point of gravity.
The story is that two scientists succeeded to put you into a virtual world, but you have no form of communication to them.
They slowly stop believing that you can hear them, and they let know that they removed your entire brain from your body,
unable to put it back again. From that moment you are "hacking GlaDOS and have yourself transmitted into a prototype of a robot equipped with a GMD in the laboratory itself.
The second idea does not really have a story. It's just a combination of minecraft, tower-defense games and first person shooters.
You start in a flat land, and you do not have any weapons but your fists.
The first wave comes, and enemies (probably one on first wave) will come rushing towards you.
When you defeat him, you can get gold and resources which you can use to hire trenchmen.
These will vary from brawlers to elite soldiers, depending on the price you pay.
Some of these trenchmen can use the materials you gathered to make, for example, sandbags.
Others may be able to melt iron, and build an entire fortress.
As you do this the amount of enemies grows stronger and stronger.
In the menu where you hire the trenchmen, you also have the ability to pick their equipment, mostly weapons.
You can buy weapons for yourself as well, here.
Please let me know what you think of these ideas
