GM HTML5 Online for turn based only?

1.) Some have said you can really only do turn based games with the way things are right now. Why is this? Is this because the time for 2 computers to communicate is too long, creating lag? How long is this lag? My game is turn based but implements some time based hits like Super Mario RPG or the paper mario series. I'm just wondering if this lag time is greater than a second or two.
2.) Some have said html5 is not secure and too easily modifiable. I don't understand this. Can someone somehow modify html code embedded in someone else's web page to help them "cheat" in a game? I've heard people say high scores and such are secure on html5. Clarity on this would be appreciated

1. you can make multiplayer games that are more than turn based but these use external files called dlls (.dll) which you use in the windows export and there is a version people have made specificly for html5 that is in javascript instead (i think). 39dll i think is the most common windows one and the other one has a j or something added on it. i cant help much on this, but many people use it. as for world time social games, those can be done also but should use databases on a server and html calls and javascript/php...
2. I have heard this too. well to see how "modifiable" it is you should open up your web browser and go to view the html which can be done in most browsers. for eg. in IE press f12 or tools(might need to press/hold alt) and developer tools. this will show a tree layout(in IE) of the head body... html. I dont know if there are steps to prevent copying but yeah the one site i looked at(alienware), you seem to be able to see it all. dont know if this is much different with html5 canvas games.

Thanks for the reply. I think its the easier and safer route to take the exe. path rather than make it for html5. Thanks for your help.
