Using command r to replace the string ";" with "-4;" seems to make an extremely long string of "-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4" etc. It seems like it replaces the semicolon with "-4;", then replaces that new semicolon with "-4;", and so on.

I'm wondering if this is a bug, and if it is, has it been fixed? I might be using an older version...

When talking about the current GM4Mac, you will be using an "older" version in 90% of all cases since GM4Mac is based on GM7, while the newest version (which is for Windows only) is 8.1(.141). Just tested it in this version, replacing ";" with ";;" results in the expected behavior, not an endless string. So if we're talking about the Windows version of GM, it has been fixed. About the Mac version, if you already have the latest one, I guess you're out of luck because YoYoGames seems to be fairly busy with GM:Studio right now.

By "old" I meant it may not be the latest Mac version. It's 7.5.83 and I don't know what the current Mac version is (I downloaded it back when it first came out so I don't know if they've updated it / fixed any bugs since then).

It's not much of a problem since I hardly ever use the command r for something like this, but it happens every time that I do. Replacing ";" with ";;" results in 1024 replacements (which takes up the entire width of the line, although I can still type more in but not be able to scroll and see it)

I've got 7.5.86 and it still happens (I think 7.5.83 may be the latest Mac App Store version?). Basically YYG have concentrated elsewhere for the moment, so don't expect a fix any time soon.
