Your Device: iPod or iPhone or whatever you're using
1. Open "Settings"
Touch whatever network you are connected to. It should already have a little check-mark next to it.
(be sure you touch the little blue circle with the arrow pointing right to open the menu for it. (>)
Take note of "IP Address" this is what you will enter into your Game Maker Preferences.
It will look something like this... 192.168.1.28 <---this is just an example, your's may be different
Game Maker Studio (with ios module)
1. Click on "File"
Click on "Preferences"
Click on "Web Server"
In the big text box where it says "IP Allowed List" enter in the IP of your device
(that you just got from steps above)
Be sure you enter in the IP like the example above... but this time end it with this /24
So it will look like this: 192.168.1.28/24 <-- Be sure you enter in YOUR ip followed by the /24
Setup of YoYo Runner:
Firstly, you must have the YoYo Runner installed on your device, if you do not... you will have to do this.
If you don't know how to do this, there is already help on how to do this in the forum and the wiki.
Secondly, you must find the IP Address of your PC computer. If you don't know how, I do it like this:
1. Start Menu
in the search field type in the following: cmd then hit enter, this will open up a command prompt
now in the command prompt, type in the following: ipconfig then scroll up until you see the following:
IPv4 Address. . . . . . . : 220.127.116.11 <---this is an example IP, yours will be different
Take Note of This Address, you will enter it into the YoYo Runner.
2. Open up the YoYo Runner, if this is the 1st time you are doing this, you will see the Settings Screen
If this is not the 1st time, then Touch the "Change Settings" button to get to the Settings screen
Host IP Address: enter in the IP Address of your PC that you just found with the "cmd" prompt
Host Port: Just leave this as it is.
Touch "Done" button and if all is well, it should run, and WORK!
3. If it does not work, you will need to adjust your firewall settings.
If you need help with this, I will look into a specific guide for it a little later, for now, just turn it off while testing... Bad advice, I know, but for the time being, it's the only way to get it working while testing.
To do this:
In the search box type the following: firewall
You will see this pop up in the list: Windows Firewall
on the left side you will see the following: Turn Windows Firewall on or off
Here you have options to turn on or off both Home and Public firewall settings... just turn Home off, then test your YoYo Runner again. It should now work... Just turn Home off, click on "ok" and try the Runner again, it should now run your game on your device.
I will revise this if needed to fill in the empty spots such as fine-tuning firewall settings at a later time. This info as is should suffice for now.
