Hi. I am new to GameMaker Studio....Can i make a game where the players can create their own graphical levels/maps IN THE GAME? IE: It would be where they would use a graphical level/map editor that i create within GameMaker Studio using GML? I would like them to be able to make their own graphical play maps/levels instead of me having to supply them all myself.

I see no reason why you can't, I've made a few level editors in GM8. Saving them each in their own file is completely another story though, and would require a bit more advanced knowledge of Game Maker than I currently have.

I'm sure there's probably a way to do what you're asking although I doubt it would be very easy.
It would take a lot of GM know-how and if you have no idea how to do this, then you're probably better off starting with simpler things.

It's such a broad question, nobody could possibly give you a decent answer on how you would go about this. It would depend on all the specifics of your game.

I just wanted to make sure it wasn't somehow against the rules because this is for a commercial game that people would buy. I would be creating my custom graphical map/level editor via GameMaker Studio with the provided GML language. The game is a normal multiplayer game that has a few maps provided by me but i want the players to be able to make their own graphical maps for it too so my game would have my custom graphical map/level maker as part of the game. I don't want to run into any legal problems from the GameMaker Studio EULA point of view. Can any of the admins comment on this?

I'm confused why you think putting a level editor in your game could cause any legal issue.
What an alien notion that is! Like if someone comes up to you and asks, "Is it okay to drink soda on a Tuesday?"
You're fine.

Sorry, i guess i am just not sure what can and cannot be done with GameMaker studio legally. I am not very good at understanding legal documents like the EULA. Thanks for the help with it all.

You CAN, it's just kinda difficult. You have to have a bunch of variables, then you have to apply them correctly to objects and make sure that no other objects can be made if these variables are filled( they control x and y coordinates) then you have to write a save file with ONLY these variables and then you have to make your game read them and then you have to make an editor mode and a player mode if you want and... it goes on and on and on.
