NEWEST CHANGES-
+Changed the HUD to make it cleaner and easier to read
+Minor particle fixes
+Fixed a bug regarding player spawning inside objects
+Added Supply Pod powerup
+Added Bomb powerup
+Tweaked ship controls
+Increased ammo given from pickups


My first big project, and one of the first to have actually been finished!

Made in GM8, Trianguloids is a Top-Down shooter not dissimilar to Asteroids. You fly around, blowing apart Triangles with various weapons, while struggling to get the highest survival times. Games are quick, and over fast, making it a great pick-up and play game. It will read mp3 files that you plop into the "Music" subfolder and play them in-game, giving you the comfort of your own music.

I've spent quite a while bug-testing it and trying to make it fun and fair, and all my testers have had a blast. Any bug reporting, feature requests, or just plain comments are encouraged.

Pretty good shooter. The graphics are nice looking, especially the colorful shooting star things. I assume you draw all this from the built-in GM functions. Is that right?

Unfortunately, the music folder was empty -- so no music. On the other hand, the download was only 2.3 Mb without it... so that's good.

The choice of weapons is cool too. Adds some variety. The only real problem I had was flying off the screen and not knowing where I was... So maybe having the view follow the play might be useful (for bad pilots like me).

Overall a fun game. +1

1) Yes, I do. I was planning on making my own particles... but I just decided against it. Maybe later.
2) You can add up to 5 of your own .mp3 music tracks to the music folder, and the game will play them.
3) This was a conscious decision. It keeps the entire playfield in view and also challenges the player's ability to pay attention to the ship.

I'm hoping this is a legal bump, as I actually have a reason to bump - an update from v1.0 to v1.03

Changes from v1.0
+Redid the help screens.
+Made the weapon HUD easier to use.
+Changed number of mp3 files from 5 to 10.
+More sound effects.
+Graphical tweaks.
+Added some graphical effects (ship trail.)
+General bugfixes.
+Major changes to weapon attributes.

I've been working hard on this update, and have a new video to show off the game better than those screencaps can!

+Overhaul of the custom music system.
+Fixed a bug where trianguloids would spawn inside the player.
