I've found my way into a pretty annoying problem that's holding up my game. I'm using a map editor to create my levels, it works great with one exception: the map size. The most efficient way to make my many maps is to zoom out on the map editor then press the 'prt scr' button and paste it to MS Paint; this is where the problem begins. The map is zoomed out and I have no idea how to get it zoomed back in via paint, map editor or GM8. The editor won't let me just import the map as a picture, and simply zooming in on paint and saving doesn't work (probably obvious) so i'm hoping GM8 has function that can zoom in the background only, whether it be in game or at all really.

Thanks if you can help! :]

So you just want to see partial of the map right? Try use views, if your are not familiar with it feel free to ask me.

What views does is it just "views" part of the map you tell it to show.

Sorry if that was not what you were after

I could be wrong, but I think he wants the opposite... to be able to screen capture a map that is larger than the screen without making multiple screen captures and pasteing them together.

Anyway, there's a code screen_save_part() and I believe that it can even save things that aren't in the view. So make dummy rooms with no objects in them... just the map / background... and put that code in the room creation. It should save the screen to an image file when the game is run.

Well, the map has to be zoomed in at least by double because as of now it's too small. Views might possibly work but I only want the map zoomed in or else everything is going to be blurred. I don't mind the ground (map) being kinda blurred but everything else is the exception.

Well the problem is solved, and I can't believe I overlooked this... I was opening up GM8, about to use your code when I was looking around the options on paint... All I had to do was zoom out then stretch the picture lol. I can also do the same thing on GM8 now that I know this, with better results too but of a downside of longer loading.

Thanks for checking out my thread and offering help though, much appreciated :]
