These aren't attacks at members. It's indexing their actions which have inspired people to laugh.

This is a forum, we have conversation, we are allowed to talk about what we want to provided it does not upset anyone, and before you question it. On YYGF this topic never offended anyone, if you try to control people right to free speech people will have less fun, they will visit less frequently, and eventually not at all. If had a conversation with someone and every time the conversation went off topic a horn was sounded and I was interrupted, I would not be having much fun.We have standards here.

But then again I see your view, and I see that our disagreement is caused by a fundamental difference in the way we see the purpose of this forum.
Your view is that a forum is designed to HELP, provide a service and generally have a purpose. GMC is about that, it is DESIGNED for that, in fact, quite a lot of forums are built to do something.
My view is that a forum is for conversation, it is somewhere I go to to talk to people NOT to get advise etc. I believe that conversation should be served even if it means a stray of topic, EVEN if it is not the original purpose of the forum.
Neither of these views is right. Some people come to forums for help and to help and others to chat. Most people do a nit of both but everyone is somewhere on the scale.
What is great about the GMC is it is both at once, the general chat supports my views and people with them, pretty much every other topic is actually there for a reason and performs a service. We are both chatty and helpful, and that is what makes us strong.
