Yeah, that happened to me on the update-before-last. Apparently, if the view isn't enabled on the first room, it can't be enabled in a later view. My workaround was to have the view enabled in every room leading up to the actual gameplay room it was actually being put to use in.

New update fixes the previous breaking, my game working in HTML5 again, only much slower. Firefox crashed and closed the first time I ran the game, but was fine after that.

Bug is fixed locally, and will be out next version. It's the WebGL stuff thats' broken. Switch that off for now, and it'll be fine.
As to the demo.... yeah. my bad.
Paste%appdata%\GameMaker-Studio\demo\WebGL Starfield into the address bar of a folder.
Edit index.xml, and change
<GMZ>VWebGL_Starfield.gmz</GMZ>
to
<GMZ>WebGL_Starfield.gmz</GMZ>
Spot it? Yeah... Stupid "V"
Demo will now work.
