I already realize that I haven't completely eliminated the grid from the snow tiles... that I'll fix.
What I really need to fix is colour of the snow / ice tiles... right now it's hard to even tell the tiles apart. Any suggestions on how I can improve them?
Also, does the ice (the tiles with the diagonal lines) look okay?
As for the others... should I put some sort of curb around the edge of the road tiles? Something about it seems off...

Personally i think you should make it more blue. I can see you already have (atleast on my screen, or im coloorblind, but probably not the later) to some extent, but not enough to contrast. Many games make that with their ice, to show that there is water below.

Your snow tiles lack contrast. You need darker darks in shadow areas to differentiate and accent the forms. Outlines are gonna help you big time on both of these tile sets -- just make sure to use a colorized outline and not black, as black tends to flatten things.
