Hi,I'm using Gml for 6 months and now i'm developing an online game..i can't create my own client and server,chat,etc.


but i know the basics..i can customize and read the program well..but the only problem.

I can't find online game auto saving..when players log out..then u will reload the game later and the
character,items,and stats,,or every details will going to be save...i know how to save text but i didn't know
the items and every details of the game..even the position.

please i need your help..opinions,suggestion will help a lot..


and also..how im going to create them:,need some good example..

1.)online inventory system
2.)Items(with client and server transaction).
3.)trading system(money system)
4.)player and monster damage.(it depends on the stats of the player on how damage cost)
5.) Lastly and most important..

How im going to upload my online game..and how much is the cost..


..please be good im a newbie..

Saving is done by making server dump client data either into INI files (preferred, since it is readable format), or data files (either text or binary).
Most likely there is no exact example for mentioned things, since it would be basically medium-sized typical GameMaker multi-player game.
However, search around. There are many examples, often including few sections of what you've listed.

To 'keep up' a server made in GameMaker, you will need a machine running Windows with DirectX 8 or above installed. Unfortunately this is not a typical case for servers, leaving you to either keep server 'locally' (at your home), or paying larger fees for such.

what machine?..

and if i keep my server locally..(what do you mean by this?..)

Sorry but i didn't understand about this line..

what machine?..

and if i keep my server locally..(what do you mean by this?..)

Computer.
For remote pay to someone (commonly company, there are many of these nowadays) to keep up one online at wherever they are, while you are able to access it one or other way.
Keeping server locally basically means that you have either your computer, or some other computer at your residence, running 24/7 with internet connected and server executable open.

All i need is to make it online at least for 3months..for Thesis project..

so all i need is to upload it..i plan to upload it December of this year..

please help me..what and how i'm going to upload it..i need the best and probably less cost.
