My favorite parts of any video game are the bosses, and I have high standards for these fights. I always hate it when a game messes up a boss fight, and I love it when they are perfected. Here are some of my favorite bosses (in no order):

The Twins (Terraria)

This battle is much more than a rematch against the first boss. You fight two massive eyeballs, each with its own attacks. They each have their own second phases, too. Because you're fighting two very fast-moving bosses at once, this fight can be intense.

C.H.A.D. (Super Meat Boy)

C.H.A.D., though pretty easy, is a fun and original fight. You need to grab keys to open up the locks above you and raise the blood level. While doing this, the boss is 'playing around,' getting in your way. You have to keep an eye on its movement pattern. The fight ends when you get to the top of the building, directing sunlight down on the boss, frying it.

Spongebot Steelpants (Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom)

This two-phase final boss battle is difficult and fun. During the first phase, you have to hit all 9 buttons that are on the boss. After every few hits, Robot Plankton attacks you and you have to hurt him to continue the fight. The boss has several attacks, ranging from simple karate chops to the powerful KER-RAH-TEH attack. The second phase takes place inside of the boss. You need to locate the boss's power source and destroy it, while being constantly attacked by robots and Robot Plankton.

Dark Syrup Monster (Ninjatown)

The final boss of my favorite game of all time. This boss has three phases that are spread out between 25 waves of monsters. You start the battle with no currency at all, and you have to rely on what's already on the field and get money from the monsters until you can eventually purchase some units. You need to make sure to have enough strong units to deal with the boss whenever it arrives. This fight can last up to 30 minutes, and it finishes off this fantastic tower defense game quite well.

Demise (Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword)

-The final boss of this game. It's actually a really short battle; just two parts. But really fun. The battle takes place in an infinite, flat plane (I assume it's infinite; I haven't tried to find an edge). He starts by approaching you and hitting you repeatedly with his sword. Once you counterstrike his attacks enough, the battle gets really entertaining; lightning starts striking the area, and both you and the boss must channel the energy of the lightning to attack the other.

The battle itself isn't that good. In fact, it's below average, but how he's dispatched makes up for it. Through a portal, to the MOON!

Pretty much any Terraria boss. Never fought any, but they look epic.

Been a long (long) time since I've fought them, but Wario Land: The Shake Dimension has some awesome boss battles.

Monoculus! You know, the giant floating cursed eyeball which was originally in the head of a black Scot, which floats around shooting deadly eye-rockets at everybody? That Monoculus! (The ! is part of the name)

SAXTON HAAAAAALE!

Any Colossus Climb counts as epic in my books.

Sonic Adventure 2 Battle Last Boss

Not as good as some bosses, but as for fighting Shadow's prototype - a gaint monster, attatched to a space station, hurtling toward the earth, as both Super Sonic and Super Shadow, then teleporting it to the other side of the world. That's pretty cool.

Ornstein and Smough (Dark Souls)

As anyone who has played Dark Souls knows, the hardest boss fights are the ones where there are multiple opponents. In this case, you have the lean, agile Ornstein who thrusts with his lightning spear, and Smough, who weilds an enormous hammer. They're hyper aggressive and pursue you around the room. Once you kill one, the other absorbs their life force and gains their strengths (becoming huge or applying lightning).

Final Fantasy X - Final Boss:

what a badass. this was one of the hardest boss fights i have ever encountered in a video game. took me over 30 tries and tons of grinding, the fight itself is about an hour long.

Legend of Dragoon:

The Divine Dragon. A fairly difficult boss fight requiring a great strategy to defeat.
Also the final boss from this game, (i can't find a picture) is a difficult boss fight. Takes about an hour to defeat and the boss goes through 5 different stages. it's one of the most epic fights ever.

Sonic The Hedgehog 2 - Final Boss:

This is defiantly one of my favorites. a difficult boss with a great theme song. it's really hard to forget this experience. Playing the whole game, with no saves, taking about 2 hours to get to the end and you get ZERO rings to fight this boss. one mistake and it's all over.

Cubia - a super hard boss fight near the end of the 1st disc. this guy is crazy. i remember spending most of the hour long battle constantly reviving my dead party members. This boss has 4 forms.

Ornstein and Smough were a good fight, but I've had an aversion to them since my fifty-odd failures against them in my first playthrough. I have to admit my favourite fight is actually the Centipede Demon:



I know he is seldom mentioned, but I really like the sense of power he exudes - he can do a hell of alot of damage with his attacks, and is unique in the way his 'limbs' can be cut off and grow back.

Speaking of Demon Ruins, I also have a strange attachment to the Ceaseless Discharge:



He looks so woefully sad and I always feel like a terrible person whenever I kill him.
