To me, the first one looks just a bit too shiny. Going crazy with effects tends to end up making the result look like a cheap attempt to make something look awesome. Better keep it clean and simple. Also, it contains two mistakes: The glow around the text is cut off, and it says "MAYHAM" instead of "MAYHEM".

The second one looks better, but depending on which background you're going to use it on, I suggest adding some more contrast. A dark background would be suitable here, while it would blend too much with a bright background (I'm using the YoYoGames theme, i.e. the bright white/gray one).

Agreed. The second one is much more nice and simple. I think the gap between "Galactic" and "Mayhem" is a bit too big though.

Looks fitting, the right amount of effects and a nice combination with the chosen font. There's one thing which slightly irritates me, though. The "d" and the two "i"s have that really dark area at their bottom parts, while the other letters don't. Personally, I'd make that area brighter, maybe a bit darker than the middle part, but I can't imagine acid which is that dark since it's usually portrayed as a light green to green liquid in most games. But maybe that's just me.

That one looks pretty good too, but I agree that the dark area is a bit too dark. The glow is also a bit cut off in some places (due to the image size being too small), and I would prefer another, maybe a bit darker, color for the glow, or no glow at all. A black or a dark green glow would be worth trying IMO.

How's this? Problem is it only looks good right now on a white background (that's easily fixed, though). Or something in this style anyways, but with your font (which is cool).

That looks fantastic, might I ask, how did you add the nice sheen the the words?

Here's how it's composited:

-galactic shape with normal blending, drawn with basic splotch brushes
-burred shadow/glow layer (dark color) behind text
-dark text border
-Base text layer
-sheen layer: base text with parts of the letters erased, set to white color and low opacity.
-duplicate of galactic shape set to addition blend mode, low opacity, over top everything else (that's what makes the center seem to glow and also puts those streaks on the M, which could be removed if you think they look really bad).

If you send me the link to the font you used, I'd be happy to remake it for you.
