Same here. I use gm8. my brother has gm8.1 lite and I've used it a little and i think gm8 is better personally.

I use GM 8.1. It took me a little while to get used to panning with the middle mouse button, though. At the end it seems easier that way.
Maybe people stick to GM8 because of that?
