Well, that depends on how you look at it. There are three "levels" of GameMaker. Lite, Standard and Studio: one is free, one is cheap and one is expensive. In a way, Standard is the demo for Studio.If I realized it correctly there is no lite or any kind of free version of Studio

I find gamemaker 8 the best version to work with. It does the job well and there's no buggy updater which I really find irritating.
I stick to gamemaker 8 as it gets the job done without a hassle.

Hi, GM Standard 8.0 and GM Standard 8.1 are on my computer but I never use GM Standard 8.1. I have a question. Is GM Standard 8.1 more buggy than GM Standard 8.0.? Thanks.!
