Yoyogames Sandbox needs improvements

The Yoyogames Sandbox needs a lot of changes. Here is a list of some of the things that I think would make it better.
-You should be able to see how many favorites a game has
-This is unnecessary, but would be nice to be able to thumbs up or thumbs down comments on games like you can on reviews, like on Kongregate
-Only like 5 of your favorite'd games show on your profile, what's up with that? o_o
-You should be able to have links in your profile's description, right now you have to copy paste links you see in it.
-Games in the spotlight thing has some issues with the buttons not working. It's not updated anymore now, either.
-There's more but this is all that comes to mind right now.
I realize Yoyogames is busy with GM:Studio and all that stuff but couldn't they at least hire someone to update their website to make it more professional?

Yes also I think that you should be able to change from dark to light like in the forumsI'm pretty sure everyone knows this already. But I don't remember anyone making a topic about it. And now that there is this new section, I'm going to say it.

Also, Sandbox would be totally awesome with darker theme and GUI.

Cool, I'm looking forward to it. Also, will you be able to upload html 5 games when it gets revamped.
Quite possibly...

We are planning a revamp at some point, but not in the immediate future. So don't hold your breath, but baring commercial realities, it is coming........ one day.
I recall that being said about some forums. You are now deleting those.

I would be glad to see a YYG staff saying this, if it weren't for the fact they've been saying the same thing for the past three years. We are planning a revamp at some point, but not in the immediate future. So don't hold your breath, but baring commercial realities, it is coming........ one day.

I find it funny that we complained about the forums, they gave us a similar answer, we complained that it has been 3 years and still nothing and then we get a petition that eventually leads to the closing of the forums. Coincidence.
I personally ignore the sandbox for the most part.
A revamp would be great!
I guess we just need to be patient.

You all know why the forums were removed. We had upgrade virtually finished, but were unaware of the security issues. These issues rendered the upgrade pointless. So the forums had to go.
We are a commercial company and have to deal with the realities of the market.
I've already said we do have plans to update things, but will do it when we have the capacity to do so. I'm not promising when, just that it's on the current plan, but face it... plans CAN change depending on market conditions.
The reality is, we WANT to do an update, and if conditions continue as they are, it should happen. But if something changes, we'll adapt and it may not happen.
Not much more I can tell you at this point.

Well, that's a relief. I'd hate to see a definitive answer -- because that would stifle this great discussion....it should happen. But if something changes, ...it may not happen.

If they ever do revamp the site, i think that there should be a little bit more of a varification process idk, i think that there needs to be a way of making it more into a site for gamers, thats how i find it originally, i mean obviously people would still upload their games, but i think the rating system would need to be adjusted to make sure that the good games get noticed more if that makes sense, also there really is a massive over saturation of games without proper screenshots and i know when i started i also made the same mistake as i knew no different but in future there should be some slightly tighter restrictions.
I Love YYG and i would love to see the site evolve into something more, if the site generated a super active user base of gamers and developers that could do wonders for all! I Know its a wild shot in the dark, but perhaps some sort of YYG API could be pwn, things like achievements on YYG itself. I Know that im making it sound alot like kongregate but where YYG excels is the fact that it really does offer one of the best (i would go as far to say the best) downloadable indie game experience on the web.
There is a great potential behind the sandbox and i know its good as it is however it could really be an opportunity for the system to improve and it could really lead to developers being able to showcase their games to a wider audience if their game truely deserves it

The Yoyogames Sandbox needs a lot of changes.
I agree with you in a lot of things:
Having only 5 favorite games is useless...I started putting the games I like in a regular favorites folder on my browser.
I'd like to add a few more ideas:
1) Rename it...Sandbox reminds me of trashcan...where you put a lot of junk.
The sandbox link should be more visible on the front page of yoyogames.
2) Get rid of all those broken PLAY NOW buttons on older games.
If a new player visits yoyo and trys PLAY NOW...there internet will most likely crash...
probably making them afraid to do anything on the site.
3) When you check game messages you left (that may be dozens of pages in)...when you go back...it forces you back to page 1...
even if you're on page 50.
4) Ability to change ratings...in case the game gets updated and starts to own.

Market is made by 2 important parts: The customer, and the seller, in order to the seller to sucess, they need customers, but if they only care in their product and less in presentation, the seller will never get customers, he thinks that hiding, the "bad" or less quality product, will make him get more money but no, he needs to show the real potential of his product, I'm sure Marks' idea wasn't to make a program to gain money, was to make a program for his students, for people, that why he was sucefull.
My apologies because english is not my native language.

No offense but Mike, you guys are too greedy, you guys think on how to get more bucks, but you guys never notice that the answer is right in front of your faces.

Hmm... If that was the case we would have a prohibitively expensive license agreement for our products like some others do, we would charge more for the products too, and Mark Overmars would not be one of the founders and directors of the company you claim is being too greedy.

No need to apologise for English not being your native language. My apologies because english is not my native language.
It's your poor logic, re-writing of history and calling people greedy that you should be apologising for.No offense but Mike, you guys are too greedy, you guys think on how to get more bucks, but you guys never notice that the answer is right in front of your faces.

There's nothing wrong with him, that 5 more years of life experience won't cure. It's your poor logic, re-writing of history and calling people greedy that you should be apologising for.

Ah, fair point Mike. Forgot about the security issues. I feel like an idiot now.
