Why don't we just call it Game Community? Then we get best of both worlds. Half of YoYo Games, and half of GameMaker. Done.

This seems like a good enough place to say it: am I the only one who thinks the dark color scheme looks rather ugly? I don't mind dark themes, but the greens look nasty. Maybe I'm not acclimated to it (been away for a while), or perhaps my screen is not calibrated. Still ...

I'm fine with it, but then again I used the dark theme back at YYGF so I'm pretty used to it.

The first, second, and fourth images all have GameMaker Community in the banner. So any one of those is fine.

I suspect Mike/YYG has already decided anyway.

No, you're not the only one who thinks it's badly designed. I have been on the white theme since I started being active here.

As stated before in the few posts I grazed over on my way to the reply box, the way the taller logos make the menu bar stretched is very unappealing. But I like how it still says "GameMaker Community" instead of changing the name. I also prefer it to be connected to the menu bar unlike how the second and third ones are situated.

To me Yoyo Games Game Maker Community is my favorite. However, I think it should be Yoyo Games: Game Maker Community or Yoyo Games: A Game Maker Community or Yoyo Games' Game Maker Community. Because "Yoyo Games Game Maker Communtiy" seems too long for a title. And that way it's showing that it's still the GMC, but yoyogames is added to the title.

So instead of discussing the theme itself, let's discuss why you and Rusty have such an issue with something you're not forced to use. Since you can easily select a different theme, your obsession with this one seems rather odd.

Are you a Republican? They are known for wanting to restrict other people's choices.

I confess, I have a problem... I see it like graffiti, graffiti can be nice and artistic, or it can say "Budda Boy waz 'ere 07", I'm not forced to look at the graffiti, but either way it's standing there and representing a location and community that I've grown some attachment too.

That's a faulty analogy. Graffiti is very public and we ARE forced to see it.

But my choice of forum theme -- in the privacy of my home -- isn't visible to you. So it's none of your business. Unless, like I said, you're a Republican.

Opinions as if I were an outsider:

I think 4 is my favourite followed by 1. My only huge issue is that they all use the font Eras, which I can't stand Why not the same font used for titles on the main YoYo Games website currently (see "Simply Minesweeper", "Simply Word Search" etc)?

And the YYG Dark theme is on automatically, it's the public theme and the first thing that people see when they visit the site. So yes, it's representing the community to the public, so it's slightly my business. If it wasn't on by default, I would have absolutely no grounds to complain about it, but the fact is, it's the default theme and the mascot theme for the GMC.

I like Beeproduction's and Nal's designs, but I don't see why YoYoGames needs to be so big with GameMaker Community so small. I think it should be the other way around with YoYo as more of a subtitle.
