I've been given an assignment for my Development class at school, and decided to make a retro styled game, with sounds and graphics like those in the days of the NES.

Firstly, screenshots:
The story will be as follows:
Mankind has reached a point of extinction.
The air is so heavily polluted, it would kill you instantly.
There are 9 fans that filter the air, but they broke down years before anyone found out.
The worlds greatest scientists create a new element that is capable of amazing things, and can't be hurt by any known element.
But it requires one Pure of Heart(yeah, it's been used before) to use it.
This man is found.
He is experimented on so heavily, that it goes wrong, and he becomes raw energy itself.
On the brink of imploding, they stabilize it, and build a suit that constantly stabilizes him.
They experiment on him frequently, and he realizes that with tie running short, he needs to get out and save the world.
He breaks out, but the scientists were keeping him there for a reason.
When they created this new element, the toxic waste was discovered to be an aggressive, hostile form of energy.
They were going to use him to eliminate it, but he left.
This energy takes over a man, and corrupts him.
He "removes" the facility of the scientists, and builds himself a suit designed similarly to the heroes.
He manufactures all sorts of different machines, with one purpose:
Destroy him.
You have to save the world, but rid the world of this energy as well.

Enemies hurt you, and you're health and laser power are limited.
