Huzzah, more mods! The other ones we just hired were already so gung-ho, there were never any reports to deal with.

Well, our forum died because of repeated attacks. Now with more, if that ever occurs, you'll be more prepared to deal with it.

If I recall correctly, your old forum used some random forum software that was no longer maintained. IP.Board is top-of-the-line forum software which shouldn't be prone to such attacks.

Yes, the old forums used Beast, which I believe is no longer in development.

Yeaaaaah, Professionalism doesn't seem like one of YoYoGames's strong suits.

Perhaps you could state exactly why YYGs has been so unprofessional and how they should have acted instead.

Frankly, I appreciate the open communication and interaction I see from them.

Mike, Russell and now Nocturne have been extremely responsive to comments, criticisms and questions about YYGs and their software. Much more so than I can recall from any other software product than I have ever owned. And the response is to bash them, call them unprofessional, and take exception because they used the word "merge" and it didn't quite fit their dictionary definition.

Do you guys want to know what the professional way of handling public communication is for the majority of companies. Silence.

No interaction, vent all communication through press releases and public relations. That's the accepted and professional way of doing things.

Maybe for a select few, on a select topic of their choosing.
But I digress. I'm not in a mood for arguing.

Stating an opinion is not arguing. You have done neither.

I don't know if it has been said yet, but I remember that when YYG first came online, people were worried about the opposite happening - us merging with them. :P Kinda funny to look back upon.

I don't really like it. i think that it is much easier for people to randomly stumble upon a forum called Game Maker Community then YoYo Games Brotherhood. Also why would you want to change the name anyway? its been the same for years, why change it now?

It took an hour for you to reply, and I do not see many people from before posting until ever hour or so whilst the first post took at least ten minutes, and about the same for most other posts before the merge

Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhhhhhhhhhhhhh. <<Repeat>>

You do realise that this is a forum right? The whole point in a forum is that people don't have to treat it like an instant chat? I can take hours inbetween posts because I watch YouTube videos, make my games, play on my xBox or rage other topics inbetween. I'm sorry, but this is the dumbest point ever raised on the GMC.

Because YYG want to change it.

Well that's definetly a good reason. I didn't know they wanted to change the name. But I still don't think the idea is good. I mean, if you are to change the name to YoYo Games Brotherhood as suggested (just using an example, not saying this should be the name), would events like the GMC Jam be changed to the YGB Jam? I mean by posting a game in the Game Maker Community it automatically says that it was done in Game Maker, which is a product owned by YoYo Games, so you don't really have to put YoYo in the name so that people understand you are using a product owned by YoYo Games to make that game.
