RE: Looking for GameMaker specific showcases/presentations!

CALL FOR PRESENTERS
SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP GAMES AND SIMULATIONS (SIGGS)

It's that time of year again and the SIGGS is needing your help to, once again, make the Games and Simulations Arcade a memorable event for all!

Last year was a blast with fun and diverse sessions on game and simulation technologies! We are looking to set the bar high again this year, so we are extending an invitation to YOU!
Will you be at the ISTE conference? AND...
Do you use educational games/sims to:
supplement your curriculum OR
have students create their own games as a way to reinforce curriculum concepts?......OR.....
Can you demonstrate/showcase a particular Game/Sim product that can be used in education?
IF YES...check your schedule on Monday, June 25th to see if you have free time to present in the Arcade, anytime between 8:00am to 4:00pm. We would LOVE for you to show off and speak to other ISTE members about how you're bringing innovation into the classroom! Won't you join us?

Presenters will receive a special Games and Simulations Arcade Session Presenter certificate they can submit, with ISTE's professional development hours form, to their district for credit.

Best of all, it's FREE to participate, it's a great way to promote any other sessions you may be hosting, AND it's a great opportunity to network with educational game developers and educators implementing games in the classroom, etc.!

We have 3 sections for presentations:

Showcase Stations
4-hours, walk-up and talk (casual)
4'x4' bar-height tables
3-4 stools at each table (people tend to walk-up and surround table)
includes a 27" monitor with VGA port
Mac laptop (but, I encourage you to bring your own PC or Mac laptop)
Bring any handouts you would like to give out to visitors.
(last year we had about 250-300 people pass through our playground, this year we will be in an open area with many other casual sessions...meaning, even more traffic!!!! ISTE tends to have at least 13,000 attendees from around the world!)
FOR: for showcasing products / software / applications and how they can be used in education, student projects, integrated lesson plans or curriculum, etc.

Fasttrack Presentation Area
30-min, sit or stand, more intimate
42" monitor display
few seats surrounding area
PC laptop, but encourage you to bring your own
Califone sound system
FOR: focused "how to" or informative session

Interactive Presentation Area
60-min, several rows of seating
Smartboard
PC laptop, but encourage you to bring your own
Califone sound system
FOR: demonstration & hands-on / audience participation

Below is the link to submit your presentation ideas. You can participate in more than one area; just submit a separate entry for each presentation. I look forward to seeing you there!

P.S. Email me (Shanna) with any questions!

This is really a great opportunity! It is a busy graduation weekend and being in NY is prohibitive :(

Too bad, because the ISTE/SIGGS session should be interesting. And San Diego is always a fun place. Unfortunately, I can't attend this year.

I spoke with Shanna by telephone on Friday, and she plans to finalize the presenter list this week. I'm hoping there are some GameMaker-related presentations on it.
