People have tried things from Flash launching, Java launching, etc.
GM:HTML5 is the solution, except for the price tag. $99 is a little hefty for a piece of software that won't really stimulate your cash flow or efficiency.
So, a solution!
Note: This is a Windows-only solution, but both Lite and Pro users can use it on Windows.
First, optimize your game by making it the fastest it can be. Try to crop image files and generally reduce file size. This is all for streamlining the loading process.
Next, make a stand-alone executable. Send it to a zip. Then use OSAKit (http://www.osakit.co...KitProSetup.exe) to set up a .osa.
Write a little explanation on your hosting site, directing people to download the runner. Create a zip file for every game with your .osa. Tell people to extract the zip to a directory of your choice, specified when you created your .osa file.
Your .osa file can be opened with a piece of HTML generated by OSAKit. You can embed the HTML in your webpage. The game will "pop out" of your browser and allow users to play it.

Theres a lot of stuff we spend money on and "only" enjoy for bout 30 hours (most games nowadays cost bout 60$) ...I use GM since v 3.x now...and I will propably use it for a long time to come. I bought the GM:S + HTML5 + Android for now...planning to get the iOS module too. Its worth the money.
